STARTING THIS SPRING!

ADULT WORKSHOPS (6months & older)

REACTIVE DOG I – 6 WEEKS – $500

This class is for dogs who bark, growl or lunge when on-leash and in the presence of other dogs. Training is done in a safe, environment to teach you and your dog the skills to manage and modify your dog’s perception & reaction to the presence of other dogs. Class size is limited to four dogs.

Week 1 is humans only, without dogs: this class will discuss thresholds, trigers & morivators. We will hold time for open discussion about your dog’s behaviors and begin the conversation about how we will be trying to help you modify these behaviors.

Week 2 you join class with your dog for 10 minutes of private time, rotating through all four dogs in class one at a time, while your classmates observe & you all learn from each other and let your dogs get comfortable with the space.

Weeks 3-6, you will be in class with your dog for the full class time, with the other students and their dogs as well! Your tuition for the in-person class also includes one in person one for an assessment.

REACTIVE DOG II – 4 WEEKS – $300

This class is for dogs and humans who have completed Reactive Dog I or equivalent private lessons with PFPT. This class helps you incorpoate the tools learned in Reactive Dog I. We will go at your dogs pace to dog generalize to help with reactivity skills and continue to practice in a safe environment with added difficulty & distractions. Enrollment in Reactive Dog II class requires completion of Reactive Dog I or  Private consult first.

FORMAT: In your home & outside park setting, In Person,

New Dog Or Puppy – 7 Weeks

For Newly adopted adults & puppies age 8 weeks – 6 months

Covers:

  • Puppy proofing home
  • Crate training
  • Housetraining — setting up feeding and potty schedules, training puppy to eliminate outside, troubleshooting
  • Nothing in Life is Free or No Free Lunch Policy
  • Management techniques for safety and training progress — use of stuffed Kongs, baby gates, how to redirect behavior,
  • Teaching bite inhibition
  • Education on common puppy behaviors: chewing, mouthing, jumping, digging, and barking,
  • Basic obedience cues – sit, down, coming when called, sit/stay, down/stay, come, and LLW
  • Family manners: sit for leashing, sit for feeding, acclimation to grooming

A series of 7 In-Home lessons for you and your puppy. This series is customized around the skills you would like to learn. Training for you and your pet in your home.

Foundation Course – 4 Weeks

Polish up your relationship with your older puppy or dog with this foundation class!  This helps with issues in the home and out in the community for your dog.

You and your dog will learn specific skills like sit, down, stay, come, loose leash walking, greeting people and dogs calmly, and more! All of the lessons will be reinforced with games that both you and your dog will enjoy!  

A series of 4 In-Home lessons for you and your puppy. This series is customized around the skills you would like to learn. Training for you and your pet in your home.

PUPPY BASICS | NEW DOG

(Puppies 9 weeks–6 months)

We aim to create a strong behavioral foundation for a balanced dog while emphasizing socialization with people and other dogs. We will teach your dog house manners, basic obedience and help you with problem prevention. Our classes teach only science -based positive reinforcement methods. When you sign up for our Puppy Training Class, you get a series of 7 in person sessions with a Certified Puppy Training Instructor who will guide you through the journey of raising and training your puppYy. You will get personalized feedback on your training and answers to all of your puppy questions.

CURRICULUM

Household Training: Potty Training, Chew Toy Training, Crate Training, Barking, and Resource Guarding.

Puppy Biting and Handling: Teach Bite Inhibition, Frustration Tolerance, Calming, and Gentling.

Manners & Safety Training: Puppy Obedience Training, Manners, Impulse Control, Boundary Training, Settling Down, and Training Games.

Safe Socialization: Socialization to People, Introducing New Environments, Developing a Calm and Confident Attitude.

Basic Training Foundations: Introduction to Basic Skills, Lure/Reward Training, Marker Words, Sit, Down, Stand, Touch, and Eye Contact.

REQUIREMENTS: 

VACCINATION: We require the first DHLPP or DHPP vaccine (specifically Distemper and Parvo) given at least 7 days prior to the first session. Proof of vaccination is required at the first class.

COVID PROTOCOLS: We will respectfully follow local protocols for the comfort and safety of all.

HANDLERS: We require at least one adult per dog/puppy. We encourage the whole family to attend the class together but if children are three years or younger, a second adult must be present.
